Emergency Medical Technician
Becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
An EMT, short for Emergency Medical Technician, is a highly skilled individual trained to handle a wide range of medical emergencies, from minor injuries like lacerations to critical situations such as motor vehicle accidents with entrapment. These professionals undergo a rigorous 180-hour training program to obtain their Pennsylvania and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certifications. Along with these certifications, many of our EMTs are also cross-trained in exterior and interior fire operations, as well as Pennsylvania State Certified Vehicle Rescue Technicians.
If you are considering joining as an EMT, ask yourself if you have the dedication and aptitude to provide assistance when people are in their most vulnerable moments. It takes a special kind of person to thrive in this demanding yet rewarding profession.
